Just heard today that the governments plans for chcnging the MOT Frequency to 4-2-2 has been dropped
3000th On-line Booking received
Less than a week after the 2000th online booking was received by Garages & VTS’s using Motasoft’s software either VGM or VMM the 3000th booking has been received. These are a mixture of both MOT & Service bookings, and combinations of both. All bookings are made directly into the Garages electronic diaries and there is no need for confirmation emails or telephone calls. Having Used VMM from Motasoft for online MOT Bookings for some time MDR Autos decided that they wished to offer other services that they offer to be booked online. To this end they decided to upgrade to the new software from Motasoft VGM (Virtual Garage Manager).
Elite Auto Centres
Having used VMM for some time Elite Auto Centres in Telford wanted to be able to offer their customers the chance to book Servicing as well as MOT’s on line 24/7. They also wanted the ability to offer any service that they offered on line and the possibility of customers booking extras such as air con recharge. To this end they upgraded their booking system to VGM from Motasoft.
Canning Car Care
To be able to contact all their customers to the fact that they were moving Canning Car Care decided to move across to VGM (Virtual Garage Manager) by Motasoft as this would enable them to compose one message and send it with one click to all their clients. It would also allow existing and new clients to find them and book online 24/7 into a confirmed time slot.
The Test Centre
The Test Centre in Deptford one of London’s busiest MOT Testing Stations has moved over to using the brand new software from Motasoft (VGM). This not only organises their booking diary, but allows customers to book online 24/7 into a confirmed diary slot. It also allows marketing by SMS and email and handles annual, and daily reminders.

We were approached by Premier Autos (Hednesford) Ltd, who were interested in adding online MOT Booking & automated email & SMS reminders to the services that they offer their customers. To perform these services They decided that VMM from Motasoft was the best option.
MOTORING COSTS SOAR
New figures have shown that motorists now pay 14% more to keep a vehicle on the road than they did a year ago.
The average new car running cost now stands at £128.64 a week, the RAC said in its report.
Compared with 2007, owning and keeping a new car on the road is now £1,556 a year more expensive.
The highest year-on-year increase in 2011 was seen in the depreciation rate, at 16.67%, ahead of car insurance at 14.38%, fuel (12.4%) and maintenance costs (8.8%).
There was a 9.85% year-on-year increase in car finance costs in 2011.
The total costs were £819 higher than the previous year, according to the report.
The report also showed a 13.2% increase in the cost of running a second-hand vehicle.
